Singer-songwriter Daniel Powter has recently dropped his music video for single “Next Plane Home” taken from his upcoming album “Under the Radar”, which has no fixed release date yet. The video is shot in an open air of hot Lancaster England.

As it is taken in the open field, the video gives a view of blue sky with the singer singing the song in a gray suit. Sometimes, an airplane is displayed, flying around him high on the sky to make various shapes, such as smiling face from its smoke.

Daniel Powter – Next Plane Home Lyrics
I woke up early to baby blue eyes from the afar whoah whoah
and when the sun comes through and lights you like the angel you are whoah whoah
I know I do you wrong when I’m with you I’ve been gone

With every season change, it looks the same (november to june) whoah whoah
And dont these empty streets skip a beat the flowers dont bloom whoah whoah

I can’t believe I missed your birthday again
and I wanna come back but I just don’t know when now

And I’m so lonely your not here with me
That’s why I’m gonna be on the next plane home

The road that never ends around the bend I see your smile whoah whoah
I’d swim across the sea to be with you for a while whoah whoah
cos I’m made a life would be gone
now the way that I feel I just don’t belong

And I’m so lonely you’re not here with me
thats why I’m gonna be on the next plane home
And you’re you’re the only face I wanna see
thats why I’m gonna be on the next plane home

Stand around try to make every moment
    and be somebody yeah anybody
it seems the whole world is taking me over
I need somebody to help me get back to it

and I’ve always been a million miles away
    but things are gonna change
    I just wanna come home

And you’re you’re the only face I wanna see
thats why I gonna be on the next plane home
yeah I’m taking the next plane home
Now I’m getting the next plane home
Now I’m taking the next plane home

The biggest up side of “Crush” is that it proves this year’s American Idol runner-up David Archuleta is a capable pop singer. Some worried that his voice would not fit a mainstream tune. Archuleta’s voice is easily the best thing here. However, this is cookie cutter, safe, forgettable pop. Hopefully, for the next single David Archuleta’s admittedly impressive pipes will be used for a truly worthy song.

Guide Review – David Archuleta – “Crush”
While it was clear this past year on American Idol eventual winner David Cook had a comfortable home waiting on the rock end of the mainstream pop spectrum, the comfortable niche for runner-up David Archuleta was much less obvious. His first single “Crush” proves that Archuleta is easily up to the task of finessing a mainstream pop tune. Warm, inviting vocals pull the listener in here.
Unfortunately, the song itself and production don’t do much to fully engage listeners. Music, lyrics and arrangement are predictable. This record promises much but delivers too little.
The reaction to “Crush” has proven that David Archuleta has a strong audience waiting for his music. Initial sales have been strong enough to push the song to a #2 debut on the Billboard Hot 100. This song is unlikely to significantly grow his audience, but it does prove he easily has the sound and chops to be a mainstream pop singer of signficance.

David James Archuleta (born December 28, 1990) is an American singer. In May 2008, he became the runner-up on the seventh season of American Idol receiving 44 percent of over 97 million votes. Archuleta’s first single “Crush” was released in August 2008; his self-titled debut album is set for release in November 11, 2008.

David Archuleta was born in Miami, Florida, to Jeff Archuleta and Lupe Marie, a salsa singer and dancer from Honduras. Archuleta has four siblings.[6] Archuleta’s family moved to the Salt Lake Valley, to the city of Sandy, Utah, when Archuleta was six. He currently lives in Murray, Utah, where he is a student at Murray High School.

Archuleta started singing at age six, inspired by a Les Misérables video. “That musical is what started all of this”, he said.[8] He started performing publicly at age 10 when he participated in the Utah Talent Competition singing “I Will Always Love You” by Dolly Parton; he received a standing ovation and won the Child Division.[9]

Archuleta was inspired by watching both Tamyra Gray and Kelly Clarkson to “see what performing and really getting into a song was like” during the beginning weeks of the premiere season of American Idol.[10] He later made his television debut, at eleven years old, singing “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” on a Jenny Jones show for future Latino stars alongside season one finalist A.J. Gil.[10] Through A.J. Gil he was able to meet and sing for Gray who had sung the song on American Idol as well as Clarkson (that year’s winner) and Justin Guarini (the runner up)

Today I just get a hold of a copy of Jay Chou’s newest album, Capricorn. It has eleven tracks and a very “unusual” cover. Maybe it’s influenced by his recently magic lesson.

Surprisingly the first track (魔杰座) is quite normal compared to 2 previous albums and I like it a lot. On track three (東方之殿), egyptian like rap song really don’t suite my taste.
東方之殿 is the third track. Not a song that can be enjoyed for me.

Despite of the fourth track position, 紅樓夢中 is a very nice love song like other Jay Chou’s hit.
Track five, “失戀的青蛙” is the icon of the album. Started with dialog and opened with a cowboy style like previous album. The song is an uptempo and have an ambient like a high school performance style with clapping sound. Unique and entertaining.

The best song is track number 6 (失落非主流), really touchy and shiver me when I first hear it.
從新愛, track 7, started with an Er Hu as opening and flowing as background accompaniment with some rap at the interlude. Great song, very suitable for a kung-fu themed movie.

Harmonica dominate the start of track 8 (大灌藍), a duet song. “Bad boy” style. Not very good, just acceptable.

Track 9, 達芬奇的畫布, a med tempo lovely song. Like it.

小丑, track 10, a rap style song with joker’s laugh at the background. Pretty plain and boring.

The last but not the least, 稻香 (Fragrant Rice). It suppose to be the icon of the album. Just OK lah for this track.

Personally, after reviewing these song, 4 out of 5 for this album. Guess If you are a Jay Chou’s fan, you’ll get the album despite of my review.

Remember when Killers’ music videos weren’t utterly underwhelming? I miss the thematic tie-ins and cultural references “Mr. Brightside” and “When You Were Young” had. And what about that homoerotic scene when that weird guy in that green fish suit goes to bed with one of , like in “Read My Mind”?
I’m a devout Killers fan, but this just won’t do. I’m sure this video will be considered a classic in 20 years (around the same time people will start appreciating Sam’s Town) — but until then, it’s just Brendon Flowers singing into a boring ole mic, right?
Maybe I’m having some sort of love affair with lists, but I’ve come up with 5 Reasons why ’ new music video for “” doesn’t suck. The complete list and the music video along with some mp3s after the jump

5 Reasons Why Music Video Doesn’t Suck

    1. The Song:” is a marvelous song. It’s lyrically and musically potent and it’s damn catchy. I wouldn’t turn away from the video just to listen to the song.
    2. ’ Moustache: It’s gone! Thank God, too! ’ oddly endearing but somewhat infuriating mustache is gone — hopefully for good. I guess this sort of implies that Brandon’s pretty boy image is coming back from this not-so-manly album?
    3. The Animals: A tiger? A puma? Vultures? My guess is that they’re trying to avenge the death of the countless bunnies that died in the making of ’ jacket.
    4. The Jacket: may have helped usher in the whole guy-liner movement — though Pete Wentz does take most of the credit — but BFlo helped, nonetheless. In more recent times, he’s really spurred on a big Freddie Mercury moustache revival. Now? I think he’s trying to make the whole Dolce & Gabbana, furry hooded jacket thing look cool.
    5. : He makes and he makes this video. Without BFlo’s anti-charisma and convulsive performance, it just wouldn’t feel like a Killers video.
